The April 10th City Council meeting was met with a packed house at the Wylie Municipal Complex. We presented our product and research as to how this can benefit the community. Upon completion of our presentation we made a motion to withdraw our petition for rezoning. This decision was made because our product is a Community involved facility. In order for us to succeed we need the community to support us and have a clear understanding of the plans for the facility. It was clear to us that the details of our plans and benefits to the community did not have the support that we felt was needed for success at the time of the April 10th meeting. We wanted to take the time at the City Council meeting to present our plans to the public and work to find another location that would be better suited for our needs; therefore at this time the item has been tabled while we pursue other options.
We thank you all for your tireless support and work for LHS. We are confident that we will gain the support of the community and find a better property for our needs in the weeks to come.
Please stay tuned for updates on our plans and progress here forward! If you have any questions, you can send them to Pres@CollinCountyHumaneSociety.org.
