Luna was found by a citizen in the Summer of 2013 at 3 months of age. She was emaciated, covered in fleas and had a severe upper respiratory infection. Luna immediately began treatment for her illness and flea infestation. Unfortunately, Luna came to us a little to late and the infection spread to her eyes. Despite aggressive immediate medical treatment our vet recommended that Luna have both eyes removed to prevent further pain and infection. A plea for donations to give Luna the life saving surgery she needed was fulfilled through five generous donors. One of our amazing volunteers stepped up to take her into foster care help ensure that Luna was given the around the clock extra TLC that she needed during the delicate recovery time. The tiny kitten was nursed back to health and learned quickly to get around using her other senses. Three months after the day she came to us, Luna was adopted by a family with a huge heart and experience with blind animals.
