Stanley was found in a rural location. The family who brought him to our shelter said they thought he was dumped on the side of the road because he was covered in sticks, burrs and even wires were embedded in this matted fur. He avoided eye contact and hung his head low. He was in such bad condition his breed was unrecognizable. Despite the pain he must have been feeling from the foreign objects embedded in his fur and his coat weighing him down, he never once showed any aggression to staff as we began the intake process for his short stay at our facility. A facebook plea was sent out to see if a groomer was able to help give Stanley relief from his matted fur. Thanks to our amazing support network within hours a groomer had arrived at the shelter to donate their time and services for Stanley. Under all the filth, fleas, wires, sticks and fur was a Labrador-Poodle (more famously known as a Labradoodle). His facebook following reach far and wide and by the morning he had several people lined up to adopt this sweet boy. After the hold period expired for his family to reclaim him from the shelter, Stanley was adopted by a wonderful family and is living the doggie dream complete with monthly spa treatments with his forever family in Allen, TX.
