Zelda was picked up in Forney after being used for breeding her entire life. Upon intake to our facility, she looked defeated and it was clear to everybody that she had no fight left in her. Zelda was suffering from a very severe case of sarcoptic mange which is highly contagious and extremely painful. She had open sores all over her body that were bleeding and full of infection. She had a long road to recovery ahead, but we feared that she did not have it in her to fight the battle for her life. Zelda spent months undergoing treatment for her skin condition and after struggling to put on weight it was discovered the she had heartworms. After recovering from one obstacle, she kept getting knocked down by others. Zelda was adopted in late 2014 and has undergone her heartworm treatment thanks to your donations to Rockwall PAWS!
