What an exciting year for Legacy Humane Society! We purchased, built out, stocked, staffed and opened Legacy Humane Veterinary Clinic on August 12, 2024, with Dr. Jennifer Thedford as lead veterinarian on staff. The buildout took a little longer than expected but it was well worth the wait. The clinic serves LHS pets in need of vetting, adoptions, public assistance for vet care and has established relationships with many rescues in the area.
After just 4 months of operations, we were able to reach our goals to expand operations – including but not limited to dental extractions/cleaning and the addition of Dr. Denise Hudson and two vet techs to our staff. Starting February 10, 2025, our hours will expand to five days a week, open Monday – Friday 8-5pm.
We are looking forward to another amazing year for our all-encompassing rescue team. This year we will continue to focus on efforts to help pets in the community by increasing spay/neuter services, wellness care, heartworm treatments and many other lifesaving services. Continued collaboration of fundraiser efforts with the LHS team will aid in our goal to expand faculties to include space for additional medical services and the addition of an animal shelter in Phase 2.
