Teddy’s Story submitted by Gina Montz:
My best friend, Tori, named me Teddy because I look like a big white teddy bear. We play together every day. She is 8 years old, and I am almost 1 year old. So, in dog years, we’re almost the same age. I was a rescue puppy from Collin County only 9 months ago.
But, I may not see my 2nd birthday without your help. You see, I have two luxating patillas. But, my knees aren’t the worst of my problems. I also have a bad back which they don’t really know what is wrong with, yet. We only know that it keeps me from running, and even walking is very painful for me.
My Mom and Dad have already spent over $1,200 on x-rays, doctors, and medicine. But, now the doctors are saying I have to see a neurologist just to figure out my back issue, surgery on both of my hind legs for the luxating patellas, and probably surgery on my back. The cost to fix me up is just too much for my new family.
Tori is an only child, and she needs me to play with every day. I just don’t know how she will handle it if I’m gone. I used to eat the cat’s food every day. So, I’m a little chunky. But, Tori’s Mom and Dad have me on a strict diet now. I’m losing weight. But, all my hard work might be for not without your help.
